What we offer

This onsite role in Portland, OR provides a competitive annual salary of USD 72,800 - 83,200 and the opportunity to lead data reporting and analytics for internal programs and funders. You will coordinate the Information Services team, ensure data integrity, and drive KPI development to help drive informed decisions in a nonprofit setting.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Information Services workload and act as project lead, serving as the data and reporting liaison to partner agencies, triaging help desk items, and coordinating IS team training.
  • Manage the data team and oversee staff training on HMIS database.
  • Submit timely reports to external funders and support partner agencies with data and reporting needs.
  • Create reports for internal teams and establish key performance indicators to guide decisions.
  • Structure large data sets to extract usable information and run and distribute reports.
  • Prepare final analysis reports for stakeholders to explain data analysis steps and support important decisions based on trends and facts.
  • Prepare management reports highlighting trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data and apply statistical tools to identify patterns in complex data sets.

Requirements

  • Acquire First Aid, CPR, and AED certification within 30 days of hire and be retested biannually thereafter.
  • Complete Bloodborne Pathogens and Narcan Training within 30 days of hire and be retested annually thereafter.
  • Demonstrate reliability by being present for work as scheduled, arriving on time, and taking breaks within expected time frames.
  • Interact effectively with people from diverse ethnic, religious, cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations, treating everyone with respect and dignity.
  • Attend agency and program staff meetings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, data management, or a related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a similar role.
  • 2+ years experience with programming languages such as R, Python, SQL, or Oracle preferred.
  • Experience with reporting packages like Business Objects and programming with JavaScript, XML, or ETL frameworks; experience with databases.
  • Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages such as Excel, SPSS, SAS for data analysis.
  • Training or experience in data analysis and data-based report generation.
  • Experience cleaning and preparing data and developing reports and dashboards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email, and Internet tools; familiarity with SQL and advanced Excel preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and good interpersonal abilities.
  • Basic understanding of homelessness, chemical dependency, mental health, domestic violence and sexual assault issues.
  • Experience working with homeless or low-income populations preferred but not required.
  • A compassionate, nonjudgmental approach and the ability to handle challenging situations constructively.

Physical and mental requirements

  • Hearing and vision adequate for interaction with participants, staff, and the general public.
  • Hearing adequate for telephone work; vision adequate for close work.
  • Hand and finger dexterity to operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to walk, bend, stand, sit, reach, stoop, pull, squat, and climb stairs and ladders.
  • Sitting at a desk completing paperwork and working on a computer for extended periods.
  • Mobility to travel to participant residences around the metro area.
  • Ability to perform CPR and other emergency life-saving care with teammates until emergency responders arrive.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
