Quality Engineer/Data Analyst
Job Description
Quality Engineer/Data Analyst role based onsite in Midland, TX, focused on quality control, SOP development, process improvement, and data reporting for the company’s compressor package fleet.
Responsibilities
- Foster and promote a strong safety culture and maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with the team to lead the development, validation, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Measure performance metrics, workflow efficiency, and operator techniques to support continuous improvement.
- Partner with Engineering and Operations staff to establish maintenance practices, diagnose issues, optimize processes, and train technicians.
- Assist with root cause failure analyses and drive the implementation of corrective actions.
- Create and manage documentation and reports, including NDE and other inspection procedures to stay compliant with industry, regulatory, safety, environmental, and customer standards.
- Support the development of control systems and process improvements aimed at reducing CoPQ.
- Recommend new or enhanced methods, procedures, and standards to improve product quality and reliability.
- Synthesize complex ideas and data into clear presentations and reports for internal and external distribution.
- Audit established processes to verify adherence to approved SOPs and terms.
- Collaborate with vendors to address concerns and develop practical solutions when needed.
- Collect and record results of sampling and testing to maintain an auditable record of product quality.
- Inspect products at job sites to substantiate customer claims of defects.
- Promote a collaborative and continuous improvement culture across teams.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules; maintain a positive, team oriented attitude.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical quality field, or equivalent quality experience.
- Knowledge of quality control principles, techniques, and tools.
- Proficiency with relevant software and systems used in quality and data analysis.
- Knowledge of reciprocating gas compressors is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, observational, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to analyze and interpret information to draw actionable conclusions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals in a fast paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with at least five years of quality experience in a production or manufacturing environment is preferred; will also consider an associate degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
- Experience in creating and establishing strategic quality processes and reporting quality metrics.
- Experience with New Product Introduction.
